New Socks
Those that know me will understand this post. So for those that don't I will explain.
I grew up in a poor family and for Christmas it was common to get new socks and underwear. I was always so excited about those new items too. I would still buy socks and underwear for Christmas, but my husband thinks I am a bit silly and should buy them whenever I need them. Most of the time he will tell me that I NEED to buy those items when he folds clothes and he ends up throwing them away because of the holes :)
Well the other day Lou and I were at Target and I saw some cute socks . I looked at them, walked away, went back to them and picked up different ones and studied the colors, walked away, went back picked them up and mentally matched different ones to my clothes, put them in my cart, walked away, turned around and put them back. Then I looked at other socks and decided that I did not need any. When I turned around, my cute little Lou had climbed in the basket and was grinning at me. She put the socks in the cart and excitedly told me to get them because they were cool.
So I got them, and they are fun and I need more fun in my wardrobe. I don't want to become old and frumpy, but old and funky. When my socks roll down to my ankles when I am old, I want them to be colorful socks so I can smile every time I pull them up.
Yes, I bought socks. Did I feel guilty? Yes, but I kept them. I am happy I kept them.
I hope you all have a fun pair of socks to wear.
